Custom Container Modifications

Whatever you need in a custom container, we can design and fabricate it. To meet your needs, we can modify our standard and refrigerated containers in various configurations.

Internal entrapment alarms

All Climatight containers are fitted with internal entrapment alarms. This ensures that if there’s a situation in which personnel get stuck inside the container, they can alert others on the outside.

Modified shipping doors

To make heavy shipping container doors easier to open and close, most Climatight containers feature modified shipping doors. This is a great feature for spaces requiring regular access.

Padlock boxes

For enhanced protection and peace of mind against theft, vandalism, accidental damage and the elements, our lock boxes conceal your padlock in high-grade, non-corrosive steel housing.

Electrical and lighting

To provide greater functionality with your shipping container, we install electrical and lighting solutions to meet your needs. This includes power points, switchboards, phone/data outlets, lighting, and AC units.

Shelving & storage

We can install shelving and storage solutions before or after delivery of your shipping container. To meet your requirements, a wide range of configurations are available for all container sizes.

Internal and external painting

A wide range of stock colours is available with your new shipping container from Climatight, or opt for a custom design – a great way to increase your brand exposure while protecting your shipping container from the elements.

Personal access (PA) doors

All Climatight standard and refrigerated containers can be fitted with personal access (PA) doors. By eliminating the need to open the main cargo doors, personal access doors make accessing the container easier.

Access ramps

To reduce the need for manual handling and increase workplace safety, all Climatight shipping containers can be fitted with heavy-duty ramps with self-levelling lips to allow for safe and efficient forklift access.

Custom Built Containers

Standard ‘dry’ containers

Our 10ft, 20ft and 40ft standard sea containers and high cube variants are highly versatile and can be used for a wide range of applications, including transportable offices, pop-up cafés, backyard workshops, and stackable storage. Whether your requirements include electrical and AC fit-outs, insulation, storage and shelving upgrades, access doors, painting or custom fabrication, we can modify and custom build standard containers to meet your needs.

Refrigerated containers

We can custom build 10ft, 20ft and 40ft refrigerated containers, including high cube units. New refrigerated containers can be custom built with a variety of door configurations and internal layouts to suit your requirements. Additionally, we can retrofit PA doors and door curtains, shelving, power points and lighting to hired and second-hand refrigerated containers.

Delivery and placement

From our Adelaide, Perth and other Australian locations, Climatight deliver sea and refrigerated containers Australia-wide. We can also arrange international shipping through our trusted global logistics partners. Depending on your site, we offer three delivery options:

Tilt tray: This option requires a minimum of 15 m clear space directly in front of the placement area.

Side Loader: Requires a minimum of 6 x 16 metres clear space and a minimum clearance of 4.5 metres.

Hiab crane: Requires a minimum of 5 x 10 metres clear space, and is only available for our 20ft containers. 

To ensure a safe and efficient delivery, please ensure you have accurately measured your site before making delivery arrangements. Additionally, before delivery, ensure access to the site and placement area is clear, there are no overhead obstructions, and the surface is flat, solid and well-drained.

Lead times

Generally, we can deliver container modifications and minor projects within a few days’ turnaround. In Adelaide and Perth Metro areas, we can often deliver the next day. For custom built containers and modifications, lead times vary depending on container type and project complexity. Accessories on hire containers

Available modifications for hired containers are minimal. However, most Climatight shipping containers for hire come with lighting, internal entrapment alarms, and modified doors to provide easy access. Additionally, if you’re looking for custom built sea containers for hire, we also offer specialty units with more unique modifications than our standard shipping containers for hire. This means there are often suitable rental options available as an alternative to buying a modified or customised shipping container.

Emergency and after-sales support

All Climatight containers for hire are backed by 24/7 breakdown and emergency support in all Australian Metro areas. This includes our DMV, dangerous goods and refrigerated shipping containers. We will provide emergency contact information at the time of booking.

We provide after-sales support for all purchased Climatight containers. This includes issues like fault diagnosis, repairs and refrigeration unit servicing.
