Climatight Containers offers refrigerated shipping container delivery Australia-wide. Learn how to prepare your site for a safe and efficient drop-off.
Planning your shipping container delivery properly ensures a smooth installation and avoids delays on site. There are a few key factors to get right before your container arrives:
Site Access and Positioning
Make sure your site is accessible for delivery vehicles and that there’s enough space to safely place the container in position.
Ground Conditions
Your delivery area should be flat and stable, with good drainage. Clear any obstructions before we arrive, including overhead hazards. This makes loading and unloading more efficient and minimises the risk of operational problems.
Door Orientation
Consider which direction the container doors need to face. That includes personal access (PA) doors and cargo doors. Container door orientation affects how we load the unit onto the truck and how easily you can access your stock once delivered.
Choosing the Right Method
Every site is different. The most cost-effective and practical shipping container delivery method depends on your space, access and container size. Below are the three refrigerated shipping container delivery methods we offer.
A tilt tray is a straightforward shipping container delivery method that slides the unit on and off from the rear of the truck. You’ll need at least 18m of clear space directly in front of the placement area.
Tilt tray shipping container delivery is best for 10ft and 20ft containers on open sites with plenty of run-out. Watch the video to learn more.
HIAB crane delivery allows precise placement where access is tighter. It lifts the container into position and requires a clearance of 5m wide by 10m long. It can lift a 5,600kg container to a 4m reach, or 1,300kg out to 15m.
HIAB crane delivery is best suited for precise placement of containers with plenty of width and height on site. Watch the video to learn more.
Side loaders handle larger shipping container deliveries by lifting containers off the side of the truck. The side loader requires 6m wide, 16m long and 4.5m high clearance. We must be able to approach from the driver’s side.
Side loaders can handle 20ft and 40ft containers and can carry up to 30,000kg under permit. Watch the video to learn more.
